20 mos

Zethan turn 20 months today. He weighs about 11.4kg and approximately 85cm.

Just going to do a quick update on his progress, not too lengthy, short and sweet.

He is picking up things at pretty amazing speed and does it out of the blue to surprise everyone. while some people frown at the idea of letting their children watch TV programs, it can be a life saver thingy for us. The power of advertisements or media as they called it. Just the other day while we are watching the 9pm drama series, Zethan over heard a boy in the show calling PAPA and he repeated after him for a few times happily. Of course the daddy is like over the moon when he heard it. There are a few other instances whereby Zethan pick up some words while watching advertisements (not that I can recall now, blame it on my pea sized memory). This goes to show that we have to be weary on our language in front of him and the TV programs he is being exposed to.

Language ~ I am in fact a little concerned over his speech as apparently he has very limited vocabulary till this moment. The same old Ball, Bus (Bart), Bubbles, Boat (Bo), MA MA (I am grinning from ear to ear), mum mum. A quick check with the PD who say that it is considered as normal for them to have single syllabus at this age. Elephants are "Hmm"

Food ~ He is slightly more adventurous with food but appear to fancy chinese food just like the daddy. He can take rice with chawanmushi or soup pretty well. Badly lacking fruits, gota turn to smoothie soon, hopefully he take it well.

Motor skills ~ need to work harder on his fine motor skills. Will be quite a while before he can self feed especially with a spoon although he still need some help with the fork. Large motor skill is pretty advanced which also means that he is very accident prone cos he love to run and not watch where he is heading!

Seperation anxiety ~ with the daddy and grandma, never with me. Not sure to rejoice or be upset about it. I do feel a tad rejected by Zethan as being a mummy, always been placed as the last choice by Zethan.

He is very sharp in his observation, identifying things and objects he acknowledge. He saw dogs on my pajamas and started signing dogs. He see Micky stuff and started pointing, saying "Ee". Often get mixed up with cats and dogs, anything with four legs and a tail are more often than not a dog.
