surf the forum and saw the link recommended by one of the mtbs...so exciting to know of Baby's progress in more graphical aspect as compared to the not so clear ultrasound...Baby ~ Jiayou and keep on growing stronger and healthy.....=)

The Baby ~ By now your baby is approximately three-quarters of an inch (2 centimeters) long and weighs about a gram. He keeps on developing at a rapid speed: the beginnings of a skeleton are being created, with cartilage prior to the actual formation of bones. The little heart has started beating at about 60 times a minute, the stomach produces gastric juices, the liver makes blood cells and the brain starts working. Now the resemblance to a tadpole is quite clear, because webbed fingers and toes appear on the hands and feet! In the meantime, your little bean is growing pretty fast: less than two weeks ago he was the size of a grain of rice, now he's as big as your thumbnail.

Healthy

8weeks 2days
Feeling - fatigue, bloated

our last visit to dr woody's clinic, mummy and daddy is so happy and excited to see ur blinky strong and clear. Precious baby have grown to 1. 42cm and EDD shifted to 31 Jan 2009.....wow....simple great and assuring to know that Baby is growing healthy and well in mummy's womb.

mummy asked dr woody for pimple cream to ease off the pimples sprouting on mummy's face and back. All fruit juices are fine with the exception of Pineapple. Dr Woody asked if we need Medical Leave to rest but mummy decide against it since just started new job. For the first time Dr Woody mentioned about our EDD which should be end Jan 09. The first visit too with urine test. We have to continue with our Duphaston and was not given pre-nat vitamins and folic acids. The pre-nat vitamins would be completed before our visit 2 weeks later.

mummy have been feeling waves and waves of fatigue and nauseousness for the past 2 weeks. Appetite have not been very ideal too as although mummy has craving for food (tons of them constantly), after a bite or 2, lost interest in the food. But mummy is still trying to eat slowly and adequately even if it means eating for the sake of eating so long as not over eat to further aggrevate the bloatedness and nauseousness. Constantly feeling thirsty yet drinking plain water makes mummy feel like puking. For the sake of our precious Baby, mummy will hang on!

just the other day, mummy thought that I could felt your heartbeat by placing my hands on mummy's tum tum. The next day, mummy did a closer observation and could see a thumping movement on mummy's tummy. Excitedly, mummy called for daddy to take a look. Mummy had to hold my breathe for a moment in order to see the thumping movement and Yes, daddy saw it too. At the same time this vain mummy have been faithfully applying stretch mark cream on my tummy. Mummy's weight have been pretty stagnant too for the past week likely due to my poor appetite but it's normal and there's no cause for alarm.

For this weekend, besides shopping for grocery and out for mealtimes, largely mummy is spending lots of time on the bed. The crowds in the mall is giving mummy headache and is worrying to be among crowds since mummy's tummy is not very obvious as yet thus high tendency of being bumped into. So to heed Dr Woody's advice, mummy is very obedient by having ample rest whenever possible.

Going back to laying on the bed for a rest while waiting for daddy to return from a wedding dinner. Nitez nitez precious Baby!

Quinny

7weeks 3days
Feeling ~ fresher

mummy had a good rest for the weekend thus feeling much better and much more refresh. These few days felt lesser of giddiness and nauseous so hopefully it will remain in this way next we cross our 1st trimester.

mummy & daddy had a little squabble on friday and refused to speak to him for the whole of fri night all the way to sat noon. we went for lunch on sat wif a super black face of mummy and all of daddy's questions are met wif nods and shakes of head as a reply. Did not have a good appetite for lunch and had to eat very slowly , purely eating for the sake of eating. Once we reached home, mummy head straight for the bed again..resting and more resting while watching TV programs. The quietly mummy head for the shower in the late noon w/o notifying daddy and while doing my makeup, refused to answer any of daddy's questions too which left him seriously helpless. We went to bugis to pray...praying for blessings for Baby...blessing that Baby will be healthy and it will be a smooth journey for us.

After praying we went for early dinner as both of us are feeling real hungry and decide to have pork porridge..try my luck on 4 pcs of chwee kuays which is delicious. Mummy had to walk to OG to use the bathroom in order not to donate our dinner in the other washrooms because of the stench. Mummy had wanted to get stretch mark cream but unfortunately Avent only carry the oil version (in OG) which I am worried will be a tad too greasy and uncomfy. So we decide to give it a miss and try our luck at Robinsons since they are having 7% absorbed promo and since we have not been to Orchard for a long while. Robinsons is packed esp the nursery session, full of preggies and of cos mummy's tummy is the smallest among all and I looked FAT instead of preggy....=p Quite unfortunately although Avent Indulgent Body Cream is available but there's no promotion for Avent except for the 7%. We decide to try our luck again at the OG next door so we will not have to travel to Metro Paragon. Luckily for us we found it with 20% off thus costing only $19.10 from the orig $23.90.

Now our eyes are more or less only fixed for Quinny and everywhere we go, it appears that only Quinny Buzz will catch our attention. Both Mothercare and OG's price tag are at the region of $1.1k which is too costly and we kind of regret not getting it over the fair last week which comes with a infant car seat. Mummy was telling daddy that it's not worth paying for the price tag and I would rather get a travel system which cost about $400. Further to that I am concerned that Quinny Buzz is rather restricted in terms of the space thus if Baby is a little bigger, could get rather uncomfy stuck in that space.

Which lead me to the objective of this blog and its title. This morning, daddy woke with a silly grin while mummy is watching TV program and mumble something. Then upon drilling further, daddy laughed and said that he dreamt about ferrying Baby in a Quinny perhaps due to the fact that we have been looking at it yestersday. Suddenly a thought came to mummy and thus reminded daddy. Daddy had mentioned last week after the fair that if Baby wish to have a Quinny, let daddy dream about getting a Quinny. So I told daddy that he had better not cheat since he 'promised' Baby that he will get one if Baby let him dream about it. keke

So we shall see if daddy fulfill his promise end of the day. Then again mummy will still evaluate the pros & cons before taking the plunge as it's more important to be practical versus stylish appearance.

Bump

7weeks 0 day
Feeling ~ FATIGUE

have not blog for a few days as mummy is overwhelmed with fatigue and are feeling real tired constantly especially after finishing work, we had early dinner and by the time we are back home....plonked straight on our bed....=) appetite is so-so these few days and had to eat slowly and slightly lesser than unsual in order to feel comfortable. We had 3 days of porridge for dinner consecutively yet still enjoying it.

the latest to the list of announcement would be Grandpa and mummy can sense Grandpa grinning from ear to ear in the phone over our conversation. He expressed tons of concern asking if Baby is fine....when will be the due date etc which is rather unusual of Grandpa. He is always a fatherly figure who appear sturdy on the appearance and never know how to express his love in words or actions....all in all he's not the expressive and mushy type.

constipated for a good 3-4 days thus yesterday had to eat an apple for supper hoping it will improve bowel movement and was glad that this morning the 'output' happened. a funny trend noted these 2 weeks is that whenever we reach Thursday, will feel nauseous and extremely tired even in the morning despite having a good 9 hours sleep.

anyway mummy is not complaining as like what Dr Woody said, feeling fatigue, nauseous and giddy are good signs to indicate the smooth progression of the pregnancy so mummy will try my very best to put up with it. Pass a remark to daddy if we should bring forward next week's appointment to Monday instead as mummy is really anxious to see Baby again. Daddy suggested that it's fine to stay put with Thursday as fixed.

By next Thursday, baby will be 8 weeks and mummy would loved to see how much has Baby grown in these 2 weeks. Hopefully most of the food that mummy has taken will go to Baby instead of mummy. These 2 days mummy have been eating quite a lot at intervals of 3 hours with hunger pangs felt at even 2 hours after meal. Perhaps it's likely due to the smaller & lighter meals taken over the early dinner resulting in more meals taken which is fine.

After such a long post, one would be wondering what has the contents got to do with the title - Bump? The intended titled as follows: -

bump at week 6 (self taken, pardon for the bad pic)

bump at week 7...had it grown?

closed up look a tad too big...hehe

the 'naked' bump at week 6

the 'naked' bump at week 7

Proud

6w4d
Feeling - bloated

as title implies....mummy & daddy are so proud of our Baby when Baby showed us the strong flickering heartbeat on thur over our review.....thank you Baby...muacks muacks!!!

it was raining while we are having our dinner @ Lot 1, can't eat too much otherwise feel bloated. After dinner wanted to have a drink thus bought Ribena w/o ice but it is still a little cold and a tad too sweet for mummy. The clinic was crowded as usual so we had to wait outside for our turn. Imagine feeling cold and nervous (about the scan later), mummy started to get butterflies in tummy again.

Saw Dr Woody who greet us with the usual statement again. Mummy have not even set my bum on the chair while replying him about feeling nauseous & bloated these few days, he immediately say let's do a scan. Mummy got so excited & nervous. After maunovering the probe on mummy's tummy, Dr Woody shouted "Mr, would you like to have a look"....daddy jumped with a "YES". Gosh how relieved and happy are we to see your little flickering heartbeat on the screen. Daddy mentioned that it's not very obvious while Dr Woody said because it's still very early unless we scan from below then will be clearer.

So off we go to 'scan from above' and daddy is certain that he catch Baby's beautiful heartbeat much clearer. Dr Woody measured Baby and Baby is about 0.25cm.

Mummy checked with Dr Woody on consumption of milk and he advised that it doesn't really benefit the baby but make mummy FAT. On the topic of fish, he said that it's okay to consume fish although there's some concerns on mercury but anyway we are are eating too much like 1kg of fish so no worries. All of us broke into laughter including himself.

We signed package and decide to pay for half and will return for next visit 2 weeks later. To continue with hormone pills, folic acid and prenatal vitamins (given only this visit).

On Friday, mummy broke the news to Grandma and she is so happy that she keep reminding mummy to take care of myself, food to avoid etc.

On Sat, Grandma called mummy again to remind mummy to be careful because it's raining and she knows mummy is out for lunch. Asked mummy why have not informed Grandpa which I should be doing so soon. Grandma wants to prepare bird's nest for us ut told her that it's too early now perhaps in the 2nd tri. Grandma get a bit paranoid and said that mummy should not drive but I assure her it's fine as I need to drive for work as well. So Grandma continue on to remind mummy not to walk too much lor. How very excited she's getting..keke.

Had a nap in the noon as felt very bloated and nauesous. Had a bad tummy ache after dinner and gota run for the loo staying in for quite a while but ache persist through the night (constipation in the noon, agony in the toilet for almost 20mins). Met Uncle Eugene and Auntie Tracy for coffee session with Nicky and saw Grandpa drove by. Coincidentally, Jiu Jiu called mummy shortly.

Reached home at about 1+am and told daddy that mummy gota remove the 'rejected food' to feel better. Guess most of the food had been digested thus all that's out could be gastric juice, abit sourish.

Sun ~ feel rather bad the whole day too since morning. Had a craving for porridge so went to Tiong Bahru and it was so so only with miserable small pcs of sliced pork and pork balls. Tried to eat very slowly for fear of being bloated and avoid the puke sensation again. Was complaining to daddy that mummy feeling a bit depressed as quite a few varieties of food that mummy love had to be avoided as of now.

We went to Motherhood fair and signed up for motherhood magazine for 2 years with a big goodies bag. Most of the people can't be bothered with mummy perhaps they would have thought it will be wasting their time since mummy's tummy is not exactly showing yet. Maternity clothings isn't that appealing thus did not buy totally. Bought a can of Frisomum since milk is running very low and it taste pretty good with Vanilla flavour. Mummy and daddy is so tempted to buy the Quinny Buzz for Baby as it's on promotion and such a good buy. We resisted the temptation and decide it's way too early to be buying a stroller at this point of time.

On the journey to IMM, mummy felt giddy and nauesous thus took a rest by closing my eyes but didn't help much to improve the situation. Tummy ache again so went to the washroom and after which tried to puke but nothing came out except for gas. Went to find daddy who is having his haircut. Decide to go for dinner and mummy had Omu rice with Fried chicken which is rather tasy but again tried to eat very slowly and not too big a portion. After buying cereals from the supermarket, decide to make our way back as mummy is feeling very tired & cold. Had to wrap myself up with shawl in the car even w/o aircon blowing away from me. Giddy thus had to close my eyes.

Upong reaching home, straight away head for the bed to rest which is really heavenly. Doze off shortly while watching TV or rather TV watching me. Had a quick nap for 30mins or so and woke to watch Garfield which is pretty funny. Got daddy to change our mattress but unfortunately mummy can't help as it was mentioned that pregnant women should not help to change their mattress so poor daddy had to do it alone. Mummy went to munch on a small box of Koko Crunch as feeling a tad hungry.

Had to do some office work which should be done yesterday but as feeling unwell & tired, had to delay till now. Of course even without completing the work, had to find time to blog since it was not updated for the last few days after the visit.

Thank you once again sweetie Baby for showing us proudly Your heartbeat! Mummy and daddy feel so blessed with Baby and we love Baby very much!

Queasy

7weeks
Feeling ~ super duper bloated & uncomfy

mummy was preparing for work this morning and after breakfast, swarm by sudden wave of giddiness and nauesous. sat for a while but apparently it didn't go away. mummy called daddy to check if it's fine for him to drive mummy to the far east for appt as mummy don't feel safe to drive on my own.

skeptical about having lunch yet still went on to eat slowly with lots of soup and vegs...had a cup of ginger tea but it taste so yucky. No choice still had to down it bit by bit in bid to try & improve the nauesousness. Didn't manage to attend my appt as I'm feeling giddy consistently and had to close my eyes to ease it off.

daddy drove us back home for a rest and mummy feel a tad hungry thus went off to grab Macs. Ordered special order of Mchicken w/o mayo and fries w/o salt which taste great since it's freshly prepared and fresh.

Reached for the bed to lie down once we touched home. mummy trying my best to suppress and keep the food down thus jokingly told daddy that Baby love Macs while daddy laughed and asked mummy or Baby...hehe

dinner is lousy as mummy crave for soury food yet exhausted to step out of the house so daddy went to pack dinner for us. The fishball mee tai bak is bad cos too dry and insufficient vinegar. Post dinner.....still very bloated but did my best to distract and keep resting on bed to prevent / control the puking.

Yeah....mummy and daddy getting all excited to see Baby tomorrow! Baby will proudly show us his/her strong blinking heartbeat...so very looking forward to it!!!

Sweetie Baby...mummy and daddy love You very much!

Vomitted

6w6d
Feeling ~ bloated & queasy

For the 1st time so far...mummy vomitted our dinner we had an hour ago. Looks like Baby doesn't like the combination of Economic Rice (sweet & sour pork, fried Kailan, maogua with dongfen and ginger chicken). As mummy didn't want to feel too bloated thus controlling a wee bit on the intake of food, not finishing the whole plate of food.

Was just telling daddy over dinner that hoping Baby don't reject fish which mummy's favourite and beneficial for Baby's growth. Thinking back of soft food such as Cod (yest's dinner) and mushroom (felt a little to slimy?) nearly brought the puke out of me. Jokingly mummy told daddy as of today, still can accept certain types of fish.

Mummy was also 'complaining' to daddy that I am getting a tad slow in motion, clumpsy and careless. Feel as though like an astronaut walking in space, ability to digest data / information said by others also slower. Hehe.

Could Baby be punishing mummy for her slip of tongue, breaking her promise on the little secret between the 3 of us? Mummy was caught off guard when asked by a customer who peek at mummy's tummy and asking for good news to share. Sound like mummy thinking way too much le ba. How could Baby bear to punish mummy and let her suffer. It's just the case of Baby disagreeing on the meal.

Oh by the way Baby, we are waiting nervously and excitedly to saying hello to You again on Thur, make us proud by showing Your strong blinking heartbeat okie....promise!!!

Contained

Mummy and daddy have decided to contain our joy and excitement of being pregnant with Baby for this period of time thus will not be sharing with friends and relatives unless absolutely necessary.

It ia really tough as many uncles and aunties are asking for good news to share but we have been keeping mum probably untill the 1st trimester is over. Well we would rather be a tad 'pantang' in order to protect the well being of Baby.

The only exception so far has been Auntie Pinkie as mummy need somebody to talk to and her baby is the same age as Baby.

So....for the time being...it is very much our little secret among the 3 of us. We would have to apologise to the nice uncles and aunties for their concern. Give us a bit more time and we would definitely jump at the very 1st opportunity to share this great news with all of you.

Weekend

6w4d
feeling ~ lazy

a few days since mummy blog.....hehe

mummy is on medical leave for 2 days to rest & recuperate from my flu but had to return to office for meeting on Fri afternoon...for the whole noon sumore......lots of pressure to be expected from work real real soon....

Sat ~ mummy is grouchy & angry with daddy as his mobilephone disturb us from our sleep in the morning hence unable to sleep again....anyway daddy picked us up for lunch and mummy decide to do some marketing for some homecooked food which we are seriously deprived of recently.

Mummy bought some Cod fish though costly but beneficial for baby so considered as worthwhile. In a dilemma on what soup to cook since we should be avoiding certain food thus the ideal choice will be sweet corn & carrots soup. Unfortunately the poultry stall is closed thus we had to make do with spare ribs instead for the soup.

Our healthy & nutritious (hopefully) dinner

We decide to take things easy over the weekend and have a good rest at home for the sake of Baby thus stayed at home the whole of Sat watching TV programs and surfing the net.

Sun ~ again for the countless days....mummy is awaken by daddy's mobilephone hence unable to return to bed after the washroom visit. Feeling hungry, decide to make us a cup of milk and gobble down a mini crossiant and yet not feeling quite satisfied. Watch TV and after daddy woke up, went to prepare the soup to cook some Mian Xian instead of instant noodles which is rather unhealthy for Baby.

Our lunch of yummy & healthy soupy Mian Xian...

after lunch we nua-ed for a while watching TV program which featured Club Med...mummy told daddy that it is perfect for family getaway though pretty costly. We set off to Bugis Guan Yin temple to pray for Baby's health and well being. Mummy pray for Baby...to be strong and healthy....all go well and good leading to a smooth delivery and arrival of Baby. Mummy also pray for blessing for Baby to show us a strong blinking heartbeat on coming Thur over our checkup so mummy & daddy can rest assured that Baby is doing great!

After praying...we went for our teabreak as mummy need to satisfy the hunger pang. We had pork porridge (unfortunately mummy couldn't have it due to the egg which is raw and stirred in), char kway teow (a tad unhealthy but delicious) and our dessert; black sesame paste. However mummy is still not satisfied and drooling over Chwee Kuay but decide against it as I did not wish to get too full and bloated which is really uncomfortable.

We went to Uncle Matthew's shop to say hello and catch up with Auntie Ding Ding for quite a while but as they are pretty busy, we took our leave. Initially we wanted to have our dinner at home to finish the soup however while we are on our journey home, mummy changed my mind and expressed wish to dine out.

It was tough trying to decide where to have our dinner as there are numerous food we should be avoiding thus many options are left out. After an exasperating dilemma, we make our way to Alexandra Village to try our luck at the carpark if we are lucky enuff in getting one. True enough the spot where mummy waited, a van is leaving. We took some while to decide on our dinner - roasted duck rice and belacan sweet potato leaves. It is truly a disappointing meal and mummy is so grouchy about it...complaining constantly on our way home. Mummy is contemplating whether to buy a apple pie from Mac in case we get hungry later. Didn't do so in the end as mummy is feeling rather bloated and nauseous.

Reached home and upon changing, went straight to bed for a rest before heading to the shower. Did some work thereafter and then surfing motherhood forum (MHF) of cos not to forget updating our blog since the last post was few days back.

Baby...mummy & daddy loved You!!!
