30 weeks

**backdated post due to lazy mummy**

weight ~ 66.3kg
waistline ~ 40 inches

getting a little lazier as the days progresses partly due to the fact that after returning from work, usually will be drained. With the nature of my job which requires lots of walking, tend to get tired rather easily though the good thing is can afford to sneak abit of rest in between.

have to make a mental note from time to time to slow down my pace of walking which results in tummy cramps otherwise. tend to forget about being pregnant and tummy getting heavier thus so anxious to finish my work fast.
feeling very stuffed and stucked in the chest and from time to time, pain near the rib cage especially on the right side. Sometime it does work to 'coax' Baby so as to help ease off the discomfort of mummy.observe 'tsunami' effect on the tummy more frequently usually in the night.

reduction in appetite from the usual 5 meals a day to basic 3 meals a day in slightly smaller portion especially dinner as compared to 2nd trimester. Funny thing though is the craving of pastries and cakes constantly and the worst being watching television and being tempted by the foodies advertisements! would definitely give the Mega Mac a try pretty soon.

appears that the acceptance of fish and milk is progressively resuming but had yet to test out drinking milk as it is (so far only tried food with milk e.g. fried fish noodles).
trying hard to drink more water in view of the ever changing weather but yet resist against the idea with the frequent urgency to visit the washroom.

oh one more thing, belly button disappearing very soon, haha

29 weeks

29 weeks 5 days
weight ~ 65.8kg (40" waist)

pregnancy related complains remain very much the same as the week before with a 'newcomer' of feeling tightness in the chest area thus resulting in breatheless even when at rest without performing any activity!

Mummy's skin condition has been getting pretty bad and she tend to get scratchy very easily and the weather somehow contribute to be part of the culprit. A few little red spots start to appear on the tummy and mummy is resisting the strong temptation to avoid scratching them for fear of resulting in stretch marks. Stubborn acnes are reappearing on her face as well.

getting calves cramps much easier especially upon waking up but a few isolated occurences out of the blue - once post lunch, sudden cramp and the other abit more concerned when the toes get cramp suddenly which fortunately I have reached home. Just the other day, was thinking what / how to react should I experience cramp while driving hoping it doesn't happen at all. Toying with the various scenarios, pull the car over the side of the road and wait till the cramp subside, straighten the leg immediately and flex the toes etc. Worst scenario will be if I happen to be travelling on the 1st lane of the highway, would I have sufficient time to react and switch lanes to the road shoulder bearing in mind how 'gracious' local drivers can be when it comes to lanes switching.

Mummy did notice a trait of Baby nowadays. He will be moving real actively in the morning especially when mummy try to steal another 5 mins of sleep before waking for work. Weekend will be worst off when He try to wake mummy up constantly from about 8am onwards. Another observation will be that Baby simply doesn't like mummy to be seated / lying down without much actions and acitivities. For example, he will move furiously when mummy is in the office doing work, driving, watching television at home lying down. Perhaps when mummy walk alot in the afternoon during the course of her work, it gives Baby a nice rhythm in the womb.

Anyhow, we visited Dr Woody on Thur for our regular checkup and at the same time mummy is feeling a tad under the weather. The usual greetings exchanged and he's nice to ask about the 'contractions' / pains experienced last visit. It had kind of ease off and occurring much lesser than before. went for the scan and for the 1st time, he mentioned about BB's weight which is about 1.4kg and all appear well. oh, Baby's head is down. That might explain why the frequency urgency need to empty a full bladder which yield little result always.

Mummy was given 2 days medical leave to rest at home and was warned - no shopping; another of his favourite statement. Being rather pro-active which is quite unusual of him, he warned mummy that as the pregnancy gets heavier, she could experienced some pains and pressure around the vaginal and pelvic area which mummy had started having the symptoms. when asked about anything further to note / monitor on the Braxton Hicks, he mentioned to look out for frequent / regular contractions which might come every 20 mins or so, otherwise the best would be to keep Baby in the womb for longest possible (of course till our EDD).

Mummy asked about the donation of cord blood and was told to contact SCBB directly for documentation and to bring along the kit during labour. Should have consult him for advice if banking Baby's cord blood privately is advisable from his point of view!

28 weeks

28 weeks 6 days
weight ~ 66kg

just stepping into the 3rd trimester (some say 27 weeks while some say 28 weeks but doesn't make much difference), mummy start to feel fatigue and tiredness slowly creeping in. She feel so tired after work and after dinner, simply don't wish to do much except to lie in bed with eyes half closed watching television (or isit television watching her).

cramping still felt intermittently but not as frequent as the past week. Mummy feel the constant urgency of the need to relieve a full bladder only to find little pee released. Must be the work of Baby pressing on the bladder thus adding pressure to it.

more complains approaching: -

'heating up' aka high body temperature thus feeling warm always. Perspiring like a pig!

aching butt & pelvic especially on the left side thus making getting up from a seated position a tad painful, poor daddy had to be at mummy's beck and call since once she planted her butt on the bed, it's tough for her to get up and fetch things on her own.

experience the need to change position while asleep which is getting tougher having to perform the "3 point turn" - left to back to right.

short tempered at the expense of poor daddy again as the victim, she tend to bark at him out of the blue having felt agitated and irritated over the slightest little thing and seconds later she feel guilty despite constantly reminding herself to keep her temper under check. Sayang daddy!

Mummy has been reminding Baby very frequently to relax and enjoy himself in the tummy for another 78 days (as of today) as it's not time to meet mummy and daddy as yet thus should not get too excited. Wonder if Baby find mummy to be such a nag!

We finished our 5th and last antenatal lesson on sat which focus on breastfeeding and related issues. Mummy is hoping that she will be able to breastfeed Baby for at least 3 months since it is beneficial to both mummy and Baby so why not, best of all it's FREE and get to save lots on the formula milk. It has also been documented that babies growing up on breastmilk are proven to have better brain development even though they could be premature as compared to full term babies on formula milk. Looks like mummy will miss Mrs Wong's lesson as it is always so informative and she's such a fun speaker so one never feel bored in her talks / lessons.

Mummy's friend, Auntie Elsie gave us lots of hand me downs which could last till Baby turn 1 year old and beyond and expecting more to come. Thanks alot Auntie Elsie! daddy has issue mummy a warning ~ No More Shopping for Clothings! mummy gota jump to her defense that she isn't shopping much for Baby's clothings!

Oh, mummy bought some concentrated bird nest and chicken essence over the last few days in one of the roadshow under Eu Yan Sang. It cost her about $200+ to purchase the items but will definitely deemed as worthwhile for the sake of Baby. From this week onwards, mummy intend to consume bird nest 3 times a week (a tablespoonful each) instead of a full bottle in a week as recommended by the sale lady. The chicken essence will be consumed just before delivery to boost up her energy during labour and post delivery to build up mummy's health.

Waistline

28 weeks 2 days

waistline? Is there still one for mummy, tough to identify at this point of time.

From the back view, mummy looks like a water bucket, how to tell where is the waist?

From the front view, minus away the bump, still look like a water bucket with hardly any curvature.

From the side view, of course look pregnant but tummy is rounded as opposed to the myth that carrying boy will have a sharp and pointed tummy.

Few days back went to purchase a tailor tape. had missed out measuring the supposedly 'waist' growth so can only tell whats the astonishing size at week 28. **drum roll please**.....it's at a whopping 38.5 inches!!! As mentioned since can hardly identify where is the waist so the above measurement is taken at the belly button.

yet for the countless times, mummy received shocking expression when the revealed she's about 7 mths pregnant. Many would have guessed to be 4-5mths from the size of her bump (daddy say because mummy is FAT to begin with!).

lots of hard work and effort to be expected post delivery. Wish mummy all the best of luck!

27 weeks

weight ~ 65.1kg

mummy has been gaining weight at a rather quick pace recently as though like experiencing growth spur. partially attributed by her numerous indulgences these days.

tightness of the tummy still occur intermittently and mummy got to realise that she had to relax in order not to aggrevate the tightness. Her natural reflex has been to tighten further which don't help at all.

She received a few comments that her tummy looks like she's about 4-5 mths pregnant when in actual fact approaching 7th month! She learnt not to take the comments to heart and worry herself silly as she's certain that Baby is growing well.

The last trip to Dr Woody's was brought forward as mummy is a little worried about the tightness and pain of her tummy. Citing possible scenario that One - possibly normal cramping which is not too much of a concern while the Second being premature contraction but as Baby is still too young thus it is highly recommended to be sent to KKH instead as the bills for premature is estimated to be about $50K. At the very least for KKH - C class, can obtain about 80% subsidy. But as of now he think that everything is fine and we just have to monitor from there. Panic buttom to be pressed only if there are numerous contractions felt within an hr/day otherwise no cause for alarm!

On a cheerful note, Baby is 916g at 26 weeks! Dr Woody assure that Baby is growing well and is of average weight but mummy felt that Baby's growth has slowed down a wee bit but it's alrite. Anyhow this is just an estimation only.

Mummy and Daddy went for a free 4D scan the other day but to mummy's disappointment, baby wasn't in a favourable position as he's facing away from the tummy. Did not manage to see much of Baby's actions except for his side profile partially covered by his hand. We were told that his feet are over his head, gosh! Try to have a clear view of his 'birdie' but mission failed as well. After a few attempt even with coaxing and talking to Baby, he decided not to show us his features and actions as yet. Perhaps meant to give us a surprise upon his arrival.

Hatchday II

27 weeks 6 days

mummy feeling unsatisfied with the buffet dinner on Fri decide to go for another round of indulging today since it's her actual hatchday. Since the idea wasn't rejected by daddy upon suggesting, she happily surf the internet for Dimsum buffet which she have been craving for it since the longest time possible ages ago.
It wasn't tough to settle for Zhou's Kitchen hi-tea buffet since the price is reasonable with quite a good selection of food (menu can be downloaded from the website). Making a reservation at 3pm for 2 (baby not chargable yet...hee), we made our way excitedly to the branch near Anchorpoint.

Parking was crazy at Anchorpoint so daddy made a detour to park at Ikea (equally crazy long queue but much cheaper) after dropping mummy off. It took daddy a good 15 mins to meet mummy again and off they go for their yummy spread of dimsum. We were shown to our seats which is like in the middle of the restaurant despite requesting for a corner seat, no other options available since they said the rest are all bigger tables.

Enough of the long winded granny story, shall let the photos do the talking: -

The aftermath of indulgence as seen below: -

mummy is really appreciative and thankful for all the well wishes from her friends and fellow mtbs in the forum, muacks!

Hatchday

27 weeks 5 days

mummy and daddy went for buffet dinner @ Holiday Inn Atrium - Melting Pot Cafe yestersday to celebrate mummy's hatchday in advance to avoid the crowd on sun which is her actual day.

mummy is a little critical of the food epecially the limited selection of food and it don't taste that fantastic either. The only food she enjoy better will be the waffles freshly baked on the spot with either icre-cream, dried fruits, nuts or various sauces.
