mummy must have gone bonkers as she is always sniffing out promotions for stocking of diapers for BB Zethan. She is totally obsessed with it!

Despite having few packs of diapers that Zethan had outgrown, she did not learn her lesson and continue stocking up on diapers! These are going to last Zethan for quite a while.

All time favourite - MP offer very nice cutting and good absorbency without causing nappy rash. Mummy bought these over Giant's promotion @ $19.99 each, good buy!

Fitti 360 is definitely value for money, soft and reasonable absorbency. Great for day use (survive through outings and night use though) but downside is the cutting which is relatively small.

Since on the topic of diapers, for the benefits of mums to be, mummy shall share her experience and personal opinions on the various brands tried.

Zethan uses Huggies Ultra NB and S in the early stage. Very soft and feel comfortable to the touch yet experience no leaking. Downside is the price which is very costly and cutting is small as well.

Drypers - hate the plasticky tape and it's a no-no for Zethan as he develop nappy rash upon 1st try. Price although very attractive but no thanks.

Pampers Baby Dry - soft to the touch which is perhaps the selling point being breathable but amazingly Zethan develop nappy rash in it too. Don't fancy it too as it's rather thin and feel cold when wet. Leaks for no apparent reason?

Nepia - Tried S for Zethan's 1st few weeks especially for outings. Love the softness and indicators on the exterior of diaper. Cutting is reasonably big and great absorbency too. If not of MP on promo, this would be the choice for night use and outings.

Petpet - good only for day use but it's a pity it comes in plastic tape and Zethan hate the sound during removal. Very cost effective especially during NTUC promotion.

Unwell - 14/15 weeks

Mummy's little guy is unwell for close to 2 weeks starting with mild cough and worsen to deep coughing with phelgm and stuffy nose. Even though he's unwell, he's still very smiley and cheery. Trust him to laugh after coughing when mummy feel the ache to hear his cough. Well, guess Zethan thought it's fun!

Initially mummy did not bring him to the PD as she gave him the medication given by PD previously. Mummy is so worried that she had to apply for 2 days of urgent leave even with grandma around.

Mummy decide to visit the PD again when he did not show any signs of recovery after 1 week and she's concerned if it might develop into sore throat which will be painful for him. Luckily his lungs are clear and was prescribed another medication for phlegm and Iladin for his stuffy nose.

Mummy was glad that his little precious fully recovered after 5 days or so, back to his usual self. However his feeding are affected partially and it's a tall order to feed especially with all the coaxing that need to be done.

Little guy did not put on much weight over these 2 weeks but mummy was more than glad to know that at least it did not dipped. Zethan does look slimmer though. At 15th week, he weighs 7.02kg and is 65cm tall!

oh...it's much tougher to capture nice & smiley photos of Zethan these days. The moment he saw the camera, his facial expression will turn blank!

Zethan's 13th week

mummy was outstation for 2 days this week and yes she miss baby Zethan badly and wasn't she glad it was just a 2 days seminar trip to the neighbouring country. she came back with a belated baby shower gift from mummy's boss, a cool looking gr8x diaper bag!

well, having a baby in the family does change mummy as remarked by mummy's superior as her life certainly evolved around Zethan only. What happen was during overseas trips, it was always a norm to see mummy shopping for herself especially in shoes! Everyone will be betting on the total number of pairs of shoes mummy 'conquer'. This trip see more of her returning with baby stuff even though she have only like less than an hour to shop!

poor daddy only have mummy grabbing a little gift for him at the airport during her returning flight, never as before. then again mummy is a little upset with daddy as he refuse to pick mummy up from the airport with Zethan giving a lousy excuse that mummy's arriving flight is too late and there isn't much at the airport at this hour! mummy thought she can have the joy of seeing Zethan once she touch down and allowing Zethan his 1st trip to the airport. Shall update on the photos of presents for Zethan from her trip soon as mummy have not got round to shooting them all as yet, as usual procrastinating!

mummy is able to spend more time with Zethan this week as there is a holiday on Friday (Good Friday) so she took leave the day before, stretching the long weekend. She flew back on wednesday and pick up grandma and Zethan on the way home.

Zethan must have discover the presence of his tongue suddenly and is having a fun time exploring. Every feed turn out to be a battle as he will either shut his mouth / gums real tight, curve his tongue to reject the teat, push out teat or all of the above. Feeding time lengthen from the usual 15mins to finish his feeds to 30mins or even up to an hr. Zethan love to watch the telly but mummy holds her reservation in allowing him to for fear of developing myophia.

Zethan's 12th week

before it slipped mummy's mind, she would like to praise baby Zethan for being such a good baby or being being to sleep thru the night since about 2 weeks back if she recalled correctly. His last feed will usually be around 12am or 1am which last him till early morning about 6-7am for his feed. Zethan is still feeding at 130ml and mummy is a little skeptical about increasing his milk as of now, so shall monitor for further action.

This week is pretty rough for mummy as she is getting the hang of things of not having Zethan by her side in particular the morning upon waking and night before bedtime. On monday when she get to visit Zethan, tears flow automatically upon seeing him. Mummy really miss him big time! She is proud to say that at least she left grandma's place late in the night with dry eyes, after putting Zethan to bed.

This carried on for like the whole week and she was really tired out by the end of the week! Most of the days mummy and daddy would leave at about 11+pm when Zethan is asleep and by the time they reached home, the clock would have strike 12+am. Mummy would take her shower and express BM which set her bedtime back by another hour or so. By the time she hit the bed, it's about 2am and she would have to wake up at about 6.30am again to set the routine of expressing followed by preparation for work. Well, for the sake of having to see mummy's darling daily, she would have to put up with it!

Crybaby

Yes being a crybaby and for that, refering to mummy ironically instead of Zethan (choy!).

as mentioned in previous post, mummy is dreading the day of having to send baby Zethan to grandma's place but of course the dreadful day will still arrived which is 29 March 2009 (sunday) before mummy report back to work on 30 March 2009.

the whole weekend, mummy went through emotional roller coaster, every opportunity she has with baby Zethan, she try to prepare herself mentally and emotionally by talking to him on sending him to grandma's place on sun. She told him that he will be 'camping' at grandma's place from sun night till thur night and mummy will fetch him back home on friday night.

needless to say, all this 'preparation' does not help totally. mummy started crying on sun morning when she bath him, change him, feed him! She console herself that mummy and daddy will bring him 'shopping' before sending him to grandma's place. So in the evening, all set off to send mummy's frozen BM to grandma's place 1st while daddy and baby Zethan wait in the car. As mummy is leaving grandma's place, she started tearing (when baby Zethan is still in the car!)

after discussing with daddy, it was decided to leave baby Zethan with grandma while we run some errands for more stuff needed at grandma's place. When we returned, grandma got a fright and thought that mummy and daddy had a fight due to mummy's red and swollen eyes! As you have guessed it, the moment mummy step out, crybaby again! throughout the whole dinner and running errands trip, she tear on & off, what a terrible sight it must have been!

At the end of the day as she bid goodbye to baby Zethan after putting him to bed, she walked away crying buckets all the way to home. Mummy is behaving like a big crybaby getting through this tough day!

1st Photoshoot

Baby Zethan went for his very 1st photoshoot on 23 March 2009 at The Studio Loft. Mummy brought him for the Easter walk-in shoot.

The experience wasn't a very good one since the aircon broke down and the place was really hot and stuffy which made Zethan very restless and protesting furiously by squirming round constantly, perspiring profusely. To make thing worst, mummy dress him in a long sleeve romper.

Zethan did not enjoy it (of course mummy is assuming) as he's put off by the flashlight which made him frown. It was a surprise that the photographer did not use the flash reflector thingy especially when she was shooting Zethan lying down thus the flashlight is irritating him big time resulting in small eyes in most if not all the shots. Anyhow he happen to be the youngest customer thanks to kiasu mummy!
