Bleed

one of the worst nightmare any mummy can have, Zethan hurt himself and bleed.

it happen just like that and seriously nobody is around to witness what had happen. mummy left Zethan in the playyard and moments later heard him crying sharply and her heart skipped a beat knowing he must have hurt himself from his cries.

mummy ran to him and freaked out upon seeing blood in his blood. She rushed to carry him and comfort him while cleaning off the blood in his mouth. she was in a panic mode and lost on what she should do, totally frighten. there was quite abit of blood and grandma went to get some medication (ba bao san) to rub on his wound. it was then discovered that he should have bit himself on the little flesh connecting the gum and upper lip.

luckily grandma is around as mummy is totally freaked out, definitely a goner. fortunately it stopped bleeding thus not making any trip to the PD.

mummy blame herself for leaving Zethan alone, she should be on her guards at all times since Zethan is active and mobile now! just 2 days back, due to mummy's carelessness, she causes Zethan to knock his head against the beam, yes high up on the ceiling!

bad mummy, hopeless mummy! having to subject poor little Zethan through the pain. she is very crossed with herself and blame herself for it.

Busy PH

yesterday or rather Friday was a holiday and Zethan went to Polliwogs again with bb Cayden followed by his very 1st housewarming at Aunty Jermaine's new abode.

it rained again on the way to polliwogs exactly the same as the 1st visit, oh man! fortunately it was only drizzling lightly upon reaching. guess it is a public holiday thus the stay was limited to 1.5 hours afterwhich extended stay will be charged. the place was rather crowded with many children running around thus got to keep an eye on Zethan as the older children are not accompanied by any adult basically.

Zethan heart this place big time and once he set foot on the indoor playarea, he is determined to explore all corners. Gosh, he was so super duper active and refused to leave the playarea after climbing, crawling, cruising without the need for any rest, say for a good 30mins or so! he show no signs of exhaustion and instead mummy and daddy badly need a break!

Zethan took a short nap of less than 30mins in the car during the drive and woke up immediately upon reaching. as usual he was being very cautious especially when faced with a gigantic dog ~ Diesel walking all around him. some moments later, he is all warmed up and started to touch Diesel on his nose and mouth. surprisingly Zethan turn into a social butterfly allowing people to carry him without a whimper.

Baby Show

Mummy brought Zethan for his very 1st baby show today @ CCK community centre. registration at 10.15am. carpark is packed to the brim, all the way to the top floor. mummy regretted not asking daddy to drop her off at the CC.

in a nutshell, nothing too fanciful about the show. very much like a waiting game; waiting for doctor's assessment, waiting for results etc. In fact it would be much appreciated if the results (in terms of grades / points) are returned for reference. at least parents are aware how their child fare in the different aspect.

as expected (without high hopes), Zethan return with a goodie bag only. Haha. Then again, Zethan gave a very pleasant surprise today out of the ordinary, he did extremely well. Not only is he so smile and cheerful, he can even play, smiling sheepishly and clap his hands to the doctor/nurse, responding rather well which is very rare of him. Good job! so well, it's the process and experience that counts end of the day.

on a sidenote, a very puzzling curiosity. at the result announcement, exclusively / expcetionally for the 1st runner up of Category A, prizes were given out first as she need to 'run' for another show??? so, how do they know they are the 1st runner up? well, it's anybody's guess.

Apricot

Now this is one fruit that is so tough to find and weird enough mummy found it from a normal HDB fruit store after scouting so many CS and Jasons in vain.

yest mummy smashed a fruit and took a wedge for him to try and munch on.

Zethan dun quite fancy it perhaps because it's a little taut, not too sweet. after a few mouthful, he start to fuss and cry terribly which mummy recently found out that it's a sign he hate the food / fruit. will keep it till next week before attempting again, till the fruit ripen further hoping it will be sweeter as supposedly the softer it is, the sweeter it will be.

Numbers

It was only very recently that mummy realised daddy and Zethan shared the same horoscope ~ Capricorn!

Daddy's 27 Dec while Zethan's 12 Jan. What a coincident.

Anyhow mummy saw some numeric 'relationship' among the few important dates.

1st Haircut

Zethan went for his 1st haircut yesterday as his hair had grown to resemble that of a bird's nest. besides the long sideburns seem to be irritating him.

started off pretty well with him seated in the toy car and distracted by the steering wheel and all. Wasn't long before he realised of someone fiddling with his hair and he certainly hate it when people touch his head.

meltdown! fussing badly even though grandma carried him and had to resort to shaver instead of clipping to get it done fast. nonetheless the result was pretty satisfactory. daddy and grandma are full of praises for their handsome little prince while mummy think otherwise. mummy said that Zethan appear to be abit nerdy with the new look!

10 months

little guy turn 10 months today...Happy 10 month-sary to Zethan! coincidentally his 3rd tooth cut today on the bottom gum to the right of his incisor; 4 months interval from the last tooth.

Zethan is currently on 2 meals of porridge daily; lunch and dinner. thanks god his appetite wasn't very much affected after the previous saga and on the average took 3 milk feeds of about 200ml. for the past 2 weeks, he tasted liver and frog legs. so far so good when porridge is concerned and hopefully it stay this way.

still a number of new food to put him on.

greens ~ broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, french beans, kailan, parsnip, potato, corn etc

fruits ~ kiwi, mango, apricot, water melon etc

others ~ millet, quinoa, yoghurt, fish, cheese etc

touching on his recent 'achivements'

~ drinking from straw. tried out for fun and he suck! 1st taste of coke which he frown upon. yet to master the straw sucking skill from sippy cup.

~ fine motor skill, ability to 'pinch' small snack with his thumb and pointer. get frustrated when he failed to feed himself the puff (partly cos it stick to his fingers)

~ dancing or so it appear to be. 'jump' and shake his head before landing on his bum.

~ standing had been no issue for him especially when it comes to pulling to stand. occasionally he does 'forget' and go handsfree for a good 3-5 seconds. even attempt to walk but of course while holding on for support.

~ crawling very aggressively, touching everything in his path. love wheels of stroller and his buggy in particular.

~ high five. when asked for high five, he will stretch out and hold his hand up. laugh happily when he was high-fived!

Zethan displayed his preferences really obvious which upset mummy. at any one time when grandma, daddy is present, his choice is definitely grandma no doubts. even if mummy attempt to carry him, he will still go eh-eh and lean towards grandma. mummy is always the last of his choice. they always say mummy will always be mummy to the baby, skeptical about that.

gosh just 2 more months to his 1st birthday and yet mummy is still procrastinating. besides a birthday banner done up, nothing! date of bash likely to be 09 Jan 2010 (sat) so peeps mark your calendar.

Busy

last week is madness for mummy thus no updates!

had to fix things up for a congress, no it's not APEC. was busy for a good 3 days.

congress starts on friday but had to deal with setup on thur evening. after the congress on fri which is a long day, had to attend the dinner since nobody is available to attend.

sat is worst, woke up feeling like a sotong in the early morning and had to reach town by 7.30am! another long day ended with lots of stuff to pack.

a lesson learnt from the congress, colleagues are not helpful at all.

thats the magic number for mummy as of yesterday, no secret!

the day was spent geared more as though it was Zethan's birthday cos mummy decide to bring Zethan to Polliwogs which she had been harping on since the longest possible. a bad start with heavy rain and daddy dropping us off at the wrong entrance, blame it on the poor signage thus having to brave the rain walking round to the main entrance.

Zethan was initially very skeptical and as usual cling on like a koala bear. the toddler's play area wasn't much of an excitement with a treehouse slide, ball pit and a toddler size slide. He started warming up when placed in the ball pit and was captivated by the numerous balls surrounding him. gradually he turned so smiley, coolz!

the balls acting as 'bait', he accomplished the crawl through the small tunnel in the toddler's play area reaching for his prized possession. left him to climb up the steps to the slide which he did and soon he's all over the place.

next on the agenda ~ check out the indoor play arena which is the main area. more tunnels, obstacles courses greeted Zethan. To mummy's surprise, Zethan was very spontaneous and check out most of them with great excitement, transformed into energizer bunny with endless stream of energy. Daddy had a hard time trying to catch up with him (read as daddy is old!) the next good hour was spent crawling, exploring and mummy busy shooting away..phewz!

time for some rest and water break. Zethan had some snacks - Happy Baby apple puffs which he enjoyed but the little guy was restless perhaps all gamed for round 2. so off he goes for round 2!since he has got the hang of things thus was left to explore and decide his route, he's very much on his own. even showed his frustration and protested when he was stopped in his track! navigate and conquer a handful of obstacles. round 2 lasted about 15mins before it was decided to call it a day. Boy, it was a lovely day and great fun but totally burnt out.

verdict - a great place worth checking out but hold reservation on weekend cos crowd is to be expected thus might be dangerous for the young babies further to the space constraint. will be back for more fun soon. well done little guy, mummy is so proud of you =D
