Sep 2011 Part II

Wow, today marked the one month-sary of our stay in Bishan. Unpacking still happening very randomly at whim and fancy, slow snail pace, sound bad huh?!!

Anyway, amid the crazy packing, on-going supervision of renovation, shopping for the house, we adventurously booked ourselves tickets for Mickey 'Live' Music Festival. What to do, the show is only for that few days and due to hesistating, we did not managed to get good seats (Dress circle 2nd row). Knowing how a big fan of Mickey Zethan is, we just had to adjust some time allowance to make the show happen.

So off we go for the 8 Sep 2011 3pm show at Marina Bay Sands - Grand Theatre. Expecting heavy traffic in the area, we set off early from home but yet with bad signages, bad traffic, full carparks, we went into a mad rush in time for the show. As usual, Zethan refused to be in his own seat almost throughout the show. The distance to the stage was far but views are considerably okay.

It was a show worth paying for as Zethan was glued to the stage through the whole show and even decide to dance along at some point.

Little did we know that just recently they have decided to return for more shows in Nov, geez!

Sep 2011 Part I

H...E..L..L....O....ooooooo (echo)......

Pardon me but september is really madness for me with tons of to dos on the agenda with limited help and time. Would have to break the sep updates in different parts too.

A quick recap...

2 Sep, fri - went for our completion for Bishan, chop chop, all done in a matter of minutes only! The house is officially ours!

Cheong there to meet up with our contractor and sub contractors all waiting in line for decisions. Settled the window grilles, indecisive with the kitchen cabinets and kitchen door. Had to leave before nightfall as the ex-owner had terminated the utilities and thankfully PUB is able to appoint us a slot to switch them on the next day's morning. Otherwise we would most probably turned into roasted pigs!

The following one week is filled with lots of coordination works be it deliveries of fittings (though not that many), selection of materials, color scheme performed all alone with Z in tow in the absence of the hub who was away for 2 days; the most crucial 2 days in fact! well...

back at home (CCK that is) packing, packing and more packing. The last few nights are like 2am, 3am, 4a, 5am kinda of thing and yet it seem like there are still tons lying around waiting for its fate of being thrown or migrate with us. It certainly is a very tall order for us to be packing with Z around, he simply unpack what we have packed. The only possible time to pack would be after his bedtime which meant we only have a few valuable hours daily to do so. this is also not quite possible untill a few days before the big move when the hub took leave (that when the 2am thingy step in).

Over the weekend or on days when we are expecting deliveries, we brought along a 3 fold mattress for Z to sit on, play on, nap on. Not to forget his toys, Ipad and snacks to keep him entertained, well prepared.

With a very tight timeline, most of the renovations are completed in time for the big move in except for some minor areas which supposedly will be tolerable. On the eve of the move, we packed till 5am in the morning! As scheduled, we moved in on 11 Sep 2011 (sun).

So...so....so...tiring.....
