Airport

a rare sunday which the family started the day so early in the morning and early means 10+. had to run arrand in the far east; Tampines! had lunch in Ikea which is packed like sardine despite reaching there at 11.40am and the queue snake far to the cashier for ordering only not to mention finding a seat. Zethan refused to take his pancake (new on the menu) after a few mouthful and spit everything out!
though very reluctant, daddy had no choice but to be persuaded by mummy to make a trip to the airport. well, Zethan's last trip is in Dec but at that point of time, he can't explore on his own so this trip will be fun.
1st stop to viewing gallery at T3 which isn't very stroller friendly as there is no direct elevator from the carpark / basement. the next worst thing is part of the gallery or rather a huge section of it is undergoing revamping and the 2 limited sections on both ends aren't ideal as landing / taking off is not very apparent especially for the toddlers.
Zethan attempt to climb the platform, lose his balance and knocked himself against the metal platform. mummy went into panic mode as he is screaming in pain, sharp and loud. luckily no bleeding noted though there is a red scratch on the right of his nose. Zethan appear to be interested in the trucks (assume they are trucking the baggages) more than the aeroplanes.
so as 'advised' by the signage to visit the T2 viewing gallery instead, took a skytrain and walked quite a distance to get there. the sight that greeted mummy was totally unpleasant and disgusting. the so called changi aviation gallery look more like a dump more than anything else. students form cluster in all corners with notes scattered on the floor. on top and above, people sleeping near the glass panels which is meant for others to view the airplanes! mummy is definitely very much turn off and decide to leave without any viewing of peoples, correction planes.
took the skytrain back to T3 again and went for some snacks. Zethan had char siew bao minus char siew which he spit out and some french toast which is a tad too oily for him. he is pretty exhausted by now as he did not managed to nap long in the car. that did not deter him from running around the spacious airport, exploring his point of interest be it foutain, feature wall with running water, giant windmill, baggage weighing scale or simply poles and glass panels. so much so that he poo-ed and had to get changed which he refused to (simply having too much fun to stop). he refused to be held by daddy and chose to go his own way. trying to locate the baby care room is another chore since there are no signages when it is smacked right in the centre of the terminal.
so yes, that's the 'Best Airport' in the world for you, leaving individual to judge and comment at individual discretion. by and large Zethan had a great time exploring and hopefully he did manage to spot a few planes landing on the runway during the 3.5 hours stay in the airport. guess the next visit if there is one will be fruitful and pleasant.

Early morning

Zethan recently started a very tiring trend for mummy and daddy, he would wake up amid his sleep in the middle of the night. technically speaking it should be early morning say 4-ish or 5ish!

He will not go back to bed after stuffing his pacifier on his own and instead try to sneak down the bed especially via the side which daddy sleep on the mattress on the floor. Yes, daddy have been officially kicked out of the bed by Zethan resorting to sleeping on the floor to refrain from being kicked by Zethan which allow him lots more space to turn and toss. However big the space is for him isn't going to help because Zethan is indeed a terrible 'bad sleeper'. He can turn and toss in all directions on the king size bed which sent mummy curling in one corner short of falling off the edge.

At times he will attempt to walk around in the darkness while sometimes he might try to locate his toy lying around somewhere to play, all this while in pitch dark. He will never return to bed / sleep untill mummy tell him off (meaning when it come to daddy, doesn't work). Somehow nobody seem able to identify what is going on to bring about this sudden change in his sleeping habit.

Help....it is super duper tiring to be woken amid sleep and it have been happening consistently for the last 4 nights / mornings. At this rate, both mummy and daddy is turning into panda very soon.

15 months

Yes the little guy turned 15 months old on Monday, that how fast time flies as they all say. Imagine 25 months ago, it's still "2 person world" (bad direct translation!) and 2 months later realised that it's gonna be 'threesome" and no turning back since.
Zethan had been super duper these days ever since he discovered the skill of walking which advanced to running. naturally when anyone called out to him, he would take it as being chased after thus turning round and take off! now it's seriously spending all available time with him except his naptime and bedtime. He seem bent on polishing his skill of 'reversing', walking backwards slowly till he bump into something or someone. He love to sit at the edge of the bed, the platform, the couch either with his legs dangling mid air or resting his feet on the floor. besides that, he tried to sit on practically everything with all his might, his stuff toy, cash register, shape sorter, balloon...
He yell, scream, babble alot but show no signs of 'talking'. Looks like he is really taking his own sweet time in the language department. The usual pa-pa, ba-ba does not link to anyone in particular. only recently he say 'bart' when he see bus either in real form or in his little picture book. certainly being reminded of the older folks who can't pronounced Bus properly thus missing out the 'S'.
Imitating the adults through his own observation can get a little frightening. One would have to be very careful with their actions, words and speech. Who knows what they are capable of picking up and imitating. If you might have missed out the previous post, Zethan surprised everyone by picking up the remote control and pointing to the TV when he see the subtitles running at the end of the show coupled with songs! He is able to identify the end of the show and it's time to change channel which mummy and daddy love to.
He is getting very directive, either inching his body forward to make one move / walk forward or pointing to one direction and go 'eh' and if he was not given the 'right' requested item, he pushes it away and continue with pointing and 'eh'. so if he received the right one, he will flash his brightest smile for you!
When it comes to bath time, he will automatically walked into the bathroom, at times upon hearing the shower. removing his pants, he will lift his legs one after another. putting on his top (after going through his head), his hand will lifted up. amazingly diapering is much more of a breeze than before although he might act up sometimes but get pacified very easily.
before long, his 2nd birthday will be approaching!

Molar

oh my god, mummy just discovered today that Zethan's molar have cut through and it's one on each side. It appear that both cut at the same time as they are almost of the same size.

It wasn't easy to peep into his mouth as he simply hate it! The more one try to pry open his mouth, the more he clam shut.

so what came about today's discovery. well these days Zethan love to laugh with his mouth widely open thus mummy managed to catch a glimpse of it.

that explains the excessive salivating and biting. such a blessing that he don't stirred and fussed in the middle of the night *touch wood*. only experience some loose stools and dip in appetite.

Haircut 2

Junior League again for his haircut which is in bad shape, overgrown! The aunty actually suggested for him to sit on his own, trying it out. Just nice the DVD is showing his favourite cartoon - Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (newly found favourite character) and it is exactly the one he is watching repeatedly at home.
so mummy is very cautious and do it very slowly for him to be on his own but never leaving him alone for a second. From placing him on the 'platform' hugging him to sitting on his own with assurance from mummy holding his legs to distracting him with the toy in front of him and the mini TV showing MMC (he isn't very interested, guess the screen too tiny for comfort).
By and large he did very well to mummy's surprise as the last trip just less than 2 months back, he did not managed to survive through the cut even though the other aunty was rather swift in her action as opposed to this current one whom is a little slower. Well done Zethan! Survived through the close to 30 minutes haircut on his own with lots of distractions (balloons, toys, stickers) coming from mummy and daddy, tiring!
Proud of the little guy!

Surprise

A pleasant surprise from Zethan!

He actually ran to fetch the remote control and point it to the TV when the show end (the subtitles run). It is indeed a farnie sight which came as a real surprise.

Guess he must have observed mummy and daddy in action for quite a while as both are fond of channel surfing!

Looks like one got to be really careful over words and actions lest be greeted by a rude surprise one day!
