14 months

Zethan turns 14 months old yesterday. A review on his achievements recently.

Walk / run. Yes, it is a challenge to keep up with him now either at home or out. He even protest in the stroller or when in the arms of mummy / daddy, looks like he prefer the freedom of walking around, exploring at his whim and fancy.
Bath - mummy has decided he is a big boy now so to bathe him minus the baby tub. She turn oblivious that Zethan might whine or cry with the shower head over his head after shampooing and go all the way out. To her surprise, Zethan did very well, not even a single whine heard.

Imitation - He observed and imitate actions such as opening of baby gate, fridge etc. even grandma's action to fling the dust off his stinky pillow when it dropped to the floor. another interesting point noted, you know what the older folks always loved to do when baby falls and hit himself / herself, hit the floor or whatsoever and miraculously never failed to hush the baby. Well, of course Zethan picked it up from grandma and he does it too when he knocks / falls. either that or he will attempt angrily to bite the whatsoever to vent his anger. just today, mummy saw him picking up a pen and dotting on a booklet.
what he needs to work harder on.

speech - besides the usual babbling, he has been going around mum mum (eat) very frequently since few days back. not too certain if he associate it with food but appear so at certain occasions. other than that, he seem to be very slow in speech. come to things he would like to have, he rather pointing then opening and closing his fists as if to show 'give me' or 'come here'.

tantrums - taking a turn for the worst for certain. take away anything he insist on having result in screams and yells. not given what he fancy also scream. to express his dislike - scream. it can be a really pain in the neck and frustration set in ever so readily (referring to the mummy). mummy have realised that the hard approach should not be attempted on him otherwise major meltdown. yet she is concerned if he will turn into a spoilt brat if all give in to him most if not all the time.

food - he is still too lazy to chew his food and swallow directly most of his food. it is nearly impossible to feed slightly textured food as he will keep them in his cheeks. so soft food such as porridge remain his favourite. amazingly he will chew his snacks but not other food! a classic example this morning, mummy took the trouble to prepare scrambled egg for his breakfast and the aftermath is meltdown, frustration, mess and a hamster-cheeked Zethan.

attention span is still terribly short, no patience for reading or demonstration (say toys). even when it comes to his favourite cartoon, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, the max is 15mins before he moved and return to focus for another couple of mins.

it has been a while since his weight / height are taken but visually it is pretty obvious he has slimmed down which mummy frown upon.
