Trip

We are going for our very first holiday trip, Zelyn's very first, the first family trip, a very very short trip......only roadtrip to Desaru!

What sparked off the roadtrip was my mum is going away and so I had to apply for leave to mind the children. Started thinking then, what a waste of leave if we were to stay at home especially so when my leaves are so limited and precious now. Toyed with a few options though, still restricted since it's only 4 days. The hubby suggested Batam instead of Desaru initially but I was not comfortable with the idea since I have yet to set foot there before thus was unsure on what to expect. Secondly travelling via ferry was not a fun option since it is unclear on how well the children take the ferry ride and the possibility that both might get seasick or rather 3 might get seasick, I am the proven case. With the ding dong here and there, I decide on Desaru myself to cut away any form of procrastination otherwise the this trip will never ever happen.

Accommodation is next and it is pretty much a no brainer since there are only 2 wise choices - Lotus Desaru and Pulai Beach Desaru. Did some reading up on reviews of the 2 hotels and as usual there are always good and bad reviews. Decide on Pulai so search the dates and was disappointed to find the hotel fully booked over the weekend so it's a matter of arriving on fri or sun. Discussed with the hubby and decide on 15 Nov 2013 (Fri) which could be a good thing as we might be able to avoid the term break crowd. Immediate action taken, enquire and booked! Being really hardworking and kiasi, spent a few days doing some research on the travelling route and where to settle our meals.

The only concern being Zelyn, if she would be able to take the journey there in the carseat despite being a short drive and that is also the main reason why we settle for Desaru instead of Malacca or beyond. Let this be a trial run for more road trips to come, well maybe yes or maybe not, we will see. Nonetheless I am still very much looking forward exciting to the road trip, no matter what it's our first family trip. Guess it's wise not to be over ambitious, there's always more opportunities ahead.

Wish us luck!
